These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Extended Horizon Lab application (the “App”), operated by the Extended Horizon Lab in the Department of Computer Science at North Carolina State University (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
About the App
The App is an internal tool used by members of the Extended Horizon Lab to manage lab personnel, schedules, and related lab information. It is provided for lab and academic use.
Eligibility and Accounts
Access to the App is intended for members of the Extended Horizon Lab and other individuals authorized by the lab.
You sign in to the App using your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us if you believe your account has been used without your authorization.
Acceptable Use
When using the App, you agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of NC State University policies
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, other users’ accounts, or related systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the App
- Misuse, misrepresent, or improperly share lab information accessed through the App
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where permitted by law
Your Information
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information the App receives, where it goes and how it is handled.
Intellectual Property
The App and its contents are the property of the Extended Horizon Lab and North Carolina State University, except for content you provide. These Terms do not grant you rights to our name, logos, or trademarks.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
The App is a research and academic tool. It should not be relied upon as the sole system of record for critical scheduling or personnel information.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Extended Horizon Lab and North Carolina State University will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the App.
Modification and Termination
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App, in whole or in part, at any time. We may also suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these Terms or where access is no longer appropriate.
You may stop using the App at any time and may revoke its access to your Google account from your Google Account permissions page.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
